A problem of course is something for which there are no automatic solutions.

It is in the very nature of a problem that, at least temporarily, it stops us in our tracks. It forces us to stand back, to re-consider, or view the situation afresh. Einstein defined insanity as 'doing the same thing over and over and expecting different results'. Problems are at their most intractable when bound up with our view of how things are. It is precisely in this respect however, if only we can stand back, that potentially we have the most to learn.
